A Swing and a Miss

This poem goes out to the people who refuse to let me live a calm life. People who are bothered by me being in peace. I’m happy and you can’t change that no matter what you do. Whatever you do God will turn it around for my good. While we don’t war against flesh and blood, but against principalities and rulers of darkness in high places I will say if this were a war you would’ve lost.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Matthew 5:11, NIV

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28, NIV
You lose.
You’re only mad because I’m no longer yours to verbally abuse.
All the words you misuse only apply to you
and while I may have a short fuse
my kind words are not a ruse.

“You’re way out of line!”
said blind leading the blind!
Have you all lost your ever-loving mind?
Why is it so hard for you to be kind?
I’m not even allowed to unwind.

“Why are you always so loud?”
God wants me to be myself,
and you should be proud.

“Why are you always joking?”
I joke for the same reason that you smoke,
it helps me relax, and those are the facts.

“You’re hurtful, you should be ashamed!”
I have no reason to feel shamed,
for this I think your perception is to blame.

Of all the people I’d want to hurt, you’d be the last.
It’s not my fault that you’re stuck in the past.

“I don’t wanna talk about that,
it happened years ago.
I’m over it though.”

“Never talk about my past!”
How long can this attitude last?
For somebody so over the past you sure shut it down fast.

I love you, I hope you know this.
Your manipulation however was a swing and a miss.

  1. Ken Van Conover – As a small two year old boy, my father sat me down one day in front of a PlayStation 1 to keep me occupied while he carried out some chores. It is here where I was first exposed to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, as well as Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Little did my father know that his action that day would lead me to a life-long love of videos games. Here, I plan on writing detailed reviews for any and all games, ranging from the NES and Sega Master System, to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. I hope you will join us, and have much enjoyment along the way! Be sure to hit me up on Xbox Live! My username is DarkDemon352
